人心已定，惟元豐舊黨分佈中外，多起邪說以搖撼在位，呂大防、劉摯患之，欲稍引用，以平夙怨，謂之「調停」。 Public opinion had settled, but Yuanfeng loyalists still spread inside and outside court, spreading seditious talk to shake those in power. Lü Dafang and Liu Zhi, troubled by this, wished to bring some back to soothe old grudges—calling it "mediation."
