時烏蒙土府祿萬鍾、鎮雄土府隴慶侯皆年少，兵權皆握于其叔祿鼎坤、隴聯星。 The native prefects of Wumeng and Zhenxiong—Lu Wanzhong and Long Qinghou—were both young men, and real military authority rested with their uncles Lu Dingkun and Long Lianxing.

鄂爾泰復招降隴聯星，而鼎坤亦以兵三千攻鎮雄之脅，兩酋皆遁四川，於是兩土府旬日平。 Ortai again induced Long Lianxing to surrender, while Dingkun in turn led three thousand men against Zhenxiong's flank. Both chieftains fled into Sichuan, and within ten days the two native prefectures were subdued.
