甲戌，御史中丞呂夢奇責授太子右讚善大夫，坐曾借毛璋馬故也。 On jiaxu Lü Mengqi was demoted to crown prince praise officer for borrowing Mao Zhang's horse.

御史台奏：「主簿朱穎是前中丞奏請，合隨聽罷任。」 The Censorate said: "Registrar Zhu Ying had been the former censor-in-chief's appointee and should leave when his patron did."

中丞呂夢奇以璋前蒙昭雪，今延祚以責賂之故，復加織羅，故稍佑璋。 Censor-in-chief Lü Mengqi felt that Zhang had already been cleared once and that Yanzuo was now pressing the case only because a promised bribe had not been paid. Believing the new accusations were contrived, he leaned somewhat in Zhang's favor.

及款狀上聞，或云夢奇受璋賂，所以獄不盡情，執之，移於軍巡。 When the written confession reached the throne, some said Lü Mengqi had taken a bribe from Zhang and had therefore not pursued the case fully. Mengqi was arrested himself, and the investigation was transferred to the military patrol office.

璋具狀曾許延祚賂未與，又云曾借馬與夢奇，別無行賂之事。 Zhang's full statement acknowledged that he had promised Yanzuo a bribe but never paid it, and that he had once lent a horse to Mengqi, but denied any other bribery.

天成初，除鄴都留守判官，與趙敬怡、呂夢奇不足。 Early in the Tiancheng era he was made aide to the Ye garrison commander and fell out with Zhao Jingyi and Lü Mengqi.

或達於重誨，會敬怡入為樞密使，與夢奇同構殺之。 Word of this reached An Chonghui. When Jingyi entered the capital as director of the Bureau of Military Affairs, he and Mengqi together plotted to have Nie killed.

中丞呂夢奇議曰：「璋前經推劾，已蒙昭雪，而延祚以責賂之故，復加織羅。」 Vice censor Lu Mengqi ruled: “Zhang was tried once and cleared. Yanzuo, denied his bribe, has spun a new net.”

璋款上，有告者言夢奇受賂而劾獄不盡，乃移軍巡獄。 When Zhang’s confession was submitted upward, an informer said Mengqi had taken a bribe and stopped the inquiry short. The case went to the military patrol prison.

獄吏希旨，鍛煉其事，璋具伏：許賂延祚而未與，嘗以馬借夢奇而無受賂。 The jail clerks shaped the case to order. Zhang confessed everything: he had promised Yanzuo a bribe and never paid; he had lent Mengqi a horse, but taken no bribe.
