父雲公，梁給事黃門侍郎，掌著作。 His father Yungong was Liang's Attendant Gentleman of the Yellow Gate and oversaw historical composition.

初，瓊父雲公奉梁武帝敕撰嘉瑞記，瓊述其旨而續焉，自永定訖于至德，勒成一家之言。 Earlier his father Yungong, on Liang Emperor Wu's order, had begun the Record of Auspicious Omens. Qiong took up his aim and carried it on from Yongding through Zhide until it stood complete as a single tradition.
