會青海野番滋事，命回陝甘，遣總兵穆爾泰、馬騰龍討平之，賜雙眼花翎，拜文華殿大學士，管理籓院事，召還京。 When wild tribes in Qinghai rose in revolt, he was ordered back to Shaanxi-Gansu and sent brigade commanders Muertai and Ma Tenglong to suppress them. He was awarded the double-eyed peacock feather, appointed Grand Secretary of the Hall of Literary Glory with charge of the Court of Colonial Affairs, and recalled to the capital.
