文度入洛舉進士，琦薦於主司馬裔孫，擢甲科，曆徐、兗、陳、許四鎮從事。 Wendu went to Luoyang and passed the jinshi examination. Qi recommended him to chief examiner Ma Yisun, and he was placed in the top class. He then served as staff officer in the Xu, Yan, Chen, and Xu commands in turn.
