湜陽置酒高會，密令總兵沈玉遂急搗之，馬占鼇窮蹙乞降，縛悍酋狗齒牙子等以獻。 Shi gave a lavish banquet while secretly ordering Brigadier Shen Yusui to strike; Ma Zhan'ao, cornered, surrendered and sent the fierce chief Gou Chiya and others bound as captives.

湜善視其孥，遂因佔鼇來降，數其罪誅之，並斬馬五麻諸悍目，賜號奇車伯巴圖魯。 He treated their families well; when Zhan'ao surrendered he listed their crimes and executed them, beheaded fierce leaders including Ma Wuma, and was awarded the Manchu title Qichebo Batulu.
