白氏年二十，留養姑不去，服勤績紝，以供租賦。 Bai was twenty. She remained to support her mother-in-law and did not leave, working diligently at spinning to supply rent and taxes.

姑年九十卒，竭力營葬，畫姑像祀之終身。 When her mother-in-law died at ninety she exhausted her strength to arrange the burial and painted her portrait to worship for the rest of her life.
