溫都部跋忒畔，穆宗遣太祖討之，入辭，奏曰：「昨夕見赤祥，往必克。」 When the Wendu tribal chief Bate rebelled, Muzong sent the Founder Ancestor to subdue him; on taking leave he reported: "Last night I saw a crimson auspice—we shall win when we go."

穆宗攻阿疏日，辰巳間，忽暴雨昏曀，雷電環阿疏所居，是夕有巨火聲如雷，墜阿疏城中，遂攻下之。 When Muzong besieged Ashuri, between the chen and si hours a violent rainstorm darkened the sky; lightning ringed Ashuri's dwelling; that night a great fire, loud as thunder, fell into Ashuri's town—and the place was taken.
