及蕭勃踰嶺，歐陽頠為前軍，曇朗紿頠共往巴山襲黃法𣰋，又報法𣰋期共破頠，約曰「事捷與我馬仗」。 When Xiao Bo crossed the range, Ouyang Wei led the van; Tanlang tricked Wei into a joint strike on Huang Fading in Bashan while telling Fading they would crush Wei together, with the bargain, "If we win, the horses and gear are mine."

及出軍，與頠掎角而進，又紿頠曰「余孝頃欲相掩襲，須分留奇兵，甲仗既少，恐不能濟」。 On campaign he moved in concert with Wei, then lied again: "Yu Xiaoqing means to ambush you—we must keep a hidden reserve; with so little armor I fear we cannot manage."

頠乃送甲三百領助之。 Wei sent three hundred suits of armor to help.

及至城下，將戰，曇朗偽北，法𣰋乘之，頠失援，狼狽退衄，曇朗取其馬仗而歸。 At the walls, about to engage, Tanlang pretended flight; Fading pressed in; Wei lost his support and broke in disorder; Tanlang seized the horses and arms and went home.
