高祖西討司馬休之，敬弘奉使慰勞，通事令史潘尚於道疾病，敬弘單船送還都，存亡不測，有司奏免官，詔可。 When Emperor Gaozu marched west against Sima Xiuzhi, Jinghong was sent to comfort the army. Communications clerk Pan Shang fell ill on the road, and Jinghong sent him back to the capital alone by boat, with no certainty he would live. The authorities memorialized for Jinghong's dismissal, and the emperor approved.
