戊午，帝自泗州率眾東下，命今上領兵行於南岸，與帝夾淮而進。 On wuwu, the Emperor led the army east from Sizhou while the present sovereign commanded troops on the south bank, the two wings advancing on either side of the Huai.

辛酉，至楚州西北，大破賊眾，水陸俱奔，有賊船數艘，順流而逸，帝率驍騎與今上追之數十里，今上擒賊大將偽保義軍節度使、江北都應援使陳承昭以獻。 On xinyou, northwest of Chuzhou, the army routed the enemy on land and water. Several rebel ships fled downriver; the Emperor and the present sovereign pursued for dozens of li, and the present sovereign captured Chen Chengzhao, the Southern Tang-appointed Baoyi commissioner and overall relief commander north of the river, and presented him to the Emperor.
