出爲竟陵王征北長史，加輔國將軍，尋徙爲冠軍長史、江夏內史，將軍如故。 He went out as army chief aide on the Prince of Jingling's Pacify-the-North staff, with added rank as general who assists the state; before long he was shifted to champion chief aide and interior administrator of Jiangxia, still holding his general's title.
