至元二十四年，從鎮南王征安南，師次瀘江。 In 1287 he followed the Prince of Zhennan against Annam, the expedition halting at the Lu River.

安南世子遣其叔父詣軍門自陳無罪，王命察罕數其罪而責之，使者辭屈，世子舉衆逃去。 Annam's heir sent his uncle to the camp to plead their innocence; the prince ordered Chahan to itemize their offenses and rebuke them. When the envoy could find no reply, the heir broke camp and fled with his troops.
