七年，竟陵王子良領國子祭酒，世祖敕王晏曰：「吾欲令司徒辭祭酒以授張緒，物議以爲云何？」 In the seventh year, Prince Ziliang of Jingling held the directorship of the imperial university. Shizu instructed Wang Yan, "I want the minister of education to give up the directorship so it can be granted to Zhang Xu. What would opinion make of that?"

子良竟不拜。 In the end Ziliang never took the post.
