石達開擾蜀邊，中和偕蕭慶高、何勝必合擊於橫江，走之。 When Shi Dakai raided the Sichuan frontier, Zhonghe joined Xiao Qinggao and He Shengbi in a combined attack at Hengjiang and drove him away.

二年春，達開復分路犯蜀，自率大隊數万由米糧壩渡金沙江。 In the spring of the second year Dakai again invaded Sichuan on multiple fronts, personally leading a force of tens of thousands across the Jinsha River at Miliangba.

中和督軍扼化林坪、瀘定橋，擊破之，賊走工卩部土司山中，達開旋就擒。 Zhonghe directed the army to block Hualinping and Luding Bridge, broke the rebels, and drove them into the mountains of the Gongbu tribes. Dakai was captured soon afterward.
