時帝不豫，難於視朝故也。 This was because the emperor was unwell and could not easily hold court.

八月，太常卿崔棁上謚曰聖文章武明德孝皇帝，廟號高祖。 In the eighth month Ceremonial Minister Cui Zhuo proposed the posthumous title Emperor Shengwen Zhangwu Mingde Xiao, with the temple name Gaozu.

至帝即位，識者曰：「『天』字取『四』字兩畫加之於傍，即『丙』字也； When the emperor took the throne, interpreters said, "add the two strokes of 'four' beside 'heaven' and you get 'bing';

史臣曰：晉祖潛躍之前沈毅而已。 The historian writes: Before Gaozu's rise, he was known chiefly for steadiness and resolve.
