世祖時，薊人張廣達等二百餘人詣闕請之，復除安東將軍、幽州刺史，改邑遼西公。 Under Shizu more than two hundred men of Ji, Zhang Guangda among them, came to court to ask for him back; he was again named General Who Pacifies the East and inspector of Youzhou, with his fief changed to Duke of Liaoxi.

太宗幸幽州，詔眷輔世祖居守。 When Taizong went to Youzhou, he ordered Juan to assist Shizu, who remained behind to guard the capital.

世祖即位，命眷與散騎常侍劉庫仁等八人分典四部，綰奏機要。 When Shizu took the throne, he ordered Juan, Regular Attendant of Scattered Cavalry Liu Kuren, and the rest, eight men in all, to divide charge of the four departments and manage key memorials.
