昔舜之禪禹也，猶命禹徂征有苗，則禹雖受禪，而征伐之事舜猶親之也。 When Shun abdicated to Yu, he still ordered Yu to campaign against the Miao; though Yu had received the throne, Shun himself still directed military affairs.
