厥後仁宗、高宗、理宗皆踵行之。 later Renzong, Gaozong, and Lizong all followed the same practice.

無子而即以養子傳授神器者，仁宗之於英宗，高宗之於孝宗，理宗之於度宗是也。 When no natural son existed, foster sons received the throne: Renzong to Yingzong, Gaozong to Xiaozong, and Lizong to Duzong.
