孫亮即位，諸葛恪輔政，表曜為太史令，撰《吳書》，華核、薛瑩等皆與參同，孫休踐阼，為中書郎、博士祭酒。 When Sun Liang took the throne, Zhuge Ke as regent recommended Yao as grand astrologer to compile the Book of Wu; Hua He, Xue Ying, and others all took part. When Sun Xiu acceded, Yao became gentleman of the secretariat and libationer of the erudits.
