己丑，復論奪門功，封孫鏜懷寧伯，董興海寧伯，欽天監正湯序禮部右侍郎，官舍旂軍晉級者凡三千餘人。 On jichou the court again ranked Gate-Seizing merit: Sun Tang was made Baron of Huaining; Dong Xing, Baron of Haining; Tang Xu, director of astronomy, vice minister of rites on the right; and more than three thousand clerks, bannermen, and camp soldiers were advanced in rank.

壬午，兵部尚書馬昂總督軍務，懷寧伯孫鏜充總兵官，帥京營軍禦之。 On renwu Minister of War Ma Ang was put in overall command; Sun Tang, Baron of Huaining, served as supreme commander and led metropolitan troops to the defense.

秋七月庚子，總督京營太監曹吉祥及昭武伯曹欽反，左都御史寇深、恭順侯吳瑾被殺，懷寧伯孫鏜帥兵討平之。 In the seventh month of autumn, on gengzi, the metropolitan camp eunuch Cao Jixiang and Cao Qin, Baron of Zhaowu, rose in revolt; Kou Shen, left censor-in-chief, and Wu Jin, Marquis of Gongshun, were killed; Sun Tang, Baron of Huaining, led troops and crushed the rebels.
