太祖崩，帝與兄宗幹率宗室群臣立太宗。 When Taizu died, the emperor with his elder brother Zonggan led the imperial clan and ministers to install Taizong.

天輔六年，太祖親征，太宗居黃龍府，安福哥誘新降之民以叛，帝與烏古乃討平之。 In the sixth year of Tianfu, while Taizu marched in person and Taizong held Huanglong Prefecture, Anfuge stirred newly submitted folk to revolt; the emperor and Wugunai crushed them.

初，伐宋，河北、河東諸將議不決，或欲先定河北、或欲先平陝西，太宗兩用其策。 Early in the war on Song, Hebei and Hedong commanders split: some wanted Hebei settled first, others Shaanxi—and Taizong followed both courses.
