譚氏，英州真陽縣人，曲江村士人吳琪妻也。 Tan Shi was from Zhenyang County in Yingzhou and the wife of the village scholar Wu Qi of Qujiang.

琪竄去，譚不能俱，與其女被執。 Qi fled; Tan could not accompany him and was seized together with her daughter.

譚有姿色，盜欲妻之，譚怒罵曰：“爾輩賊也。 Tan was beautiful; the bandits wished to marry her. She cursed them: "You are bandits.
