尋從成都將軍特成額駐兵江卡，捕夾壩，圍本肯賊寨，焚其碉，斃賊甚眾，擢懋功協副將。 He then served under Chengdu General Te Cheng'e at Jiangka, hunting bandits, besieging the rebel stockade at Benken, burning its watchtowers, and killing many enemies. He was promoted to deputy vice general of the Maogong Brigade.
