吐蕃，本漢西羌之地，或雲南涼禿發利鹿孤之後，其子孫以禿發爲國號，語訛爲吐蕃。 The Tubo realm had originally been the territory of the Western Qiang in Han times. Some held that its people were descended from Tufa Lilugu of Southern Liang and that their descendants had taken Tufa as the name of their state—a name that, in common speech, was corrupted into Tubo.
