元豐五年正月，翰林學士王安禮言：「詳定渾儀官歐陽發所上渾儀、浮漏木樣，具新器之宜，變舊器之失，臣等竊詳司天監浮漏，疏謬不可用，請依新式改造。 In the first month of the fifth year of Yuanfeng, Academician-Expositor Wang Anli reported: "Ouyang Fa, officer charged with determining the armillary sphere, has submitted wooden models of the armillary sphere and clepsydra that show what the new instruments should do and remedy what the old ones got wrong. We find the Directorate's clepsydra coarse and unreliable and ask that it be rebuilt to the new design.

御史台言：「左丞蒲宗孟、右丞王安禮賀僕射上尚書省，於都堂下馬。 The Censorate reported: 'Left Assistant Director Pu Zongmeng and Right Assistant Director Wang Anli congratulated the Vice Director at the Department and dismounted at the main hall.

安禮爭論上前，以為今日置左、右丞為執政官，不應有厚薄。 Wang Anli argued before the emperor that Assistant Directors were now chief executive officials and should not be treated unequally.
