開平中，襄帥王班為帳下所害，亂軍推玘為留後，玘詭從之，翌日受賀，衙庭享士，伏甲幕下，盡斬其亂將。 In Kaiping the Xiang commander Wang Ban was killed by his own men; the mutineers made Qi regent, and Qi pretended to accept. The next day, at the congratulatory feast in the court hall, he hid armed men beneath the curtains and executed all the rebel leaders.
