據王潮實以唐景福元年入福州，拜觀察使，而後人紀錄者，乃用「騎馬來、騎馬去」之讖以為據，遂以王潮光啟二年歲在丙午拜泉州刺史為始年，至保大四年，歲復在丙午而滅，故為六十一年。 Wang Chao actually entered Fuzhou in the first year of Jingfu of Tang and was appointed observation commissioner. Later chroniclers, guided by the prophecy "came on horseback, left on horseback," took Wang Chao's appointment as Quanzhou prefect in the second year of Guangqi, a bingwu year, as the founding date. The state fell in the fourth year of Baoda, when bingwu came round again—hence sixty-one years.
