是歲，王都據定州， That year Wang Du held Ding,

癸巳，晏球以都反狀聞。 On guisi day Yanqiu reported Du's rebellion to the throne.

契丹遣禿餒率騎千餘來援都，突入定州，晏球引軍保曲陽。 The Khitan sent Tunei with more than a thousand cavalry to aid Du; they broke into Ding, and Yanqiu withdrew his army to Quyang.

王都、托諾出軍拒戰，晏球督厲軍士，令短兵擊賊，戒之曰：「回首者死。」 Wang Du and Tuonuo marched out to fight; Yanqiu roused his men for close combat and warned them, "Turn back and you die."
