初從莊宗為馬步軍都指揮使兼行軍司馬，明宗入立，遷皇城使、保義軍節度使，與討王都。 He first served Zhuangzong as commander of horse and foot and army marshal; when Mingzong succeeded he became imperial city envoy and governor of Baoyi and joined the campaign against Wang Du.
