昇明末，爲相國西曹掾，太祖賞之，及卽位，謂王儉曰：「南士中有沈昭略，何職處之？」 At the end of Shengming he served as Western Bureau Adjutant to the Chancellor of State; the founding emperor admired him, and upon taking the throne said to Wang Jian, "Among southerners there is Shen Zhaolue—what post should he fill?"

儉曰：「臣已有擬。」 Jian said, "Your servant already has a candidate in mind."
