審知喪未期，徹其几筵，又多選良家子為妾。 Before his father's mourning year was out he cleared away the mourning furnishings and took numerous daughters of respectable families as concubines.

審知養子建州刺史延稟，本姓周氏，自審知時與延翰不葉。 Shenzhi's adopted son Yanbin, governor of Jianzhou, had been born a Zhou. He and Yanhan had been at odds since Shenzhi's day.

鏻，審知次子也。 Lin was Shenzhi's second son.

追謚審知為昭武孝皇帝，廟號太祖，立五廟，置百官，以福州為長樂府。 He posthumously honored Shenzhi as Emperor Zhaowu the Filial, with the temple name Taizu, established five ancestral temples, appointed a full court, and renamed Fuzhou the Changle metropolitan prefecture.

審知婢金鳳，姓陳氏，鏻嬖之，遂立以為後。 Golden Phoenix, a maid of Shenzhi's from the Chen clan, became Lin's favorite and was raised to empress.

乃命興率壯士殺審知子延武、延望及其子五人。 He ordered Xing to lead bravos to kill Shenzhi's sons Yanwu and Yanwang along with five of their sons.

延義，審知少子也。 Yanyi was Shenzhi's youngest son.

延政，審知子也。 Yanzheng was a son of Shenzhi.

明年，連重遇已殺曦，集閩羣臣告曰：「昔太袓武皇帝親冒矢石，遂啟有閩，及其子孫，淫虐不道。 The following year, after Lian Chongyu had killed Xi, he gathered the ministers of Min and declared: "Long ago the founding Martial Emperor braved arrows and stones and opened rule in Min. Yet his descendants have been lewd, cruel, and without the Way.
