授靜江府古縣令，道湖州，守汪藻館之。 He was appointed magistrate of Guxian in Jingjiang Prefecture. Passing through Huzhou, Prefect Wang Zao lodged him as a guest.

藻留與修《徽宗實錄》，固辭，或曰：「是可以階改秩。」 Wang Zao asked him to stay and help compile the Veritable Records of Emperor Huizong, but he firmly declined. Someone said, "That could advance your rank."
