策曰：「於戲，夫文昌政本，司會治經，韋彪謂之樞機，李固方之斗極。況其五曹斯綜，百揆是諧，同冢宰之司，專臺閣之任。惟爾道業標峻，宇量弘深，勝範清規，風流以為准的，辭宗學府，衣冠以為領袖。故能師長六官，具瞻允塞，明府八座，儀形載遠，其端朝握揆，朕所望焉。往欽哉，懋建爾徽猷，亮采我邦國，可不慎歟！」 The appointment document said: "Ah! Wenchang is the root of government; the accounting office orders its rules. Wei Biao called it the pivot, and Li Gu compared it to the pole star. Its five bureaus bring matters together and harmonize the hundred duties, matching the charge of the minister of state and holding the responsibilities of the state secretariat. Your moral practice is lofty and your capacity deep; the refined take your pure standard as their measure, and scholars and gentlemen take you as their leader. You can therefore guide the six offices and satisfy the hopes of all; as one of the eight seats, your example will carry far. To stand upright at court and hold the balance is what I expect of you. Go reverently, build your fine plans, and brightly aid our state. Can you fail to be careful?"
