昔我皇祖武宗皇帝升遐之後，祖母太皇太后惑於憸慝，俾皇考明宗皇帝出封雲南。 Formerly, after our imperial grandfather Emperor Wuzong passed away, our grandmother the Grand Empress Dowager was deluded by slanderers, causing our imperial father Emperor Mingzong to be sent out to enfeoffment in Yunnan.

英宗遇害，正統浸備，我皇考以武宗之嫡，逃居朔漠，宗王大臣同心翊戴，肇啟大事，於時以地近，先迎文宗，暫總機務。 When Emperor Yingzong was assassinated, orthodox succession was gradually prepared; our imperial father, as Wuzong's legitimate heir, fled to dwell in the northern desert; princes and great ministers with one heart supported and uplifted him, initiating the great enterprise; at that time, because of proximity, Wenzong was first welcomed to temporarily oversee state affairs.
