尋與同知銜謝採嶂直搗賊屯，賊赴水死者千餘，乘銳毀其卡，薄城先登，擊殺守陴悍賊，餘宵遁，城克。 He soon joined Associate Prefect Xie Caizhang in a direct assault on the rebel camp; more than a thousand rebels drowned; pressing the attack he destroyed their barricades, was first up the wall, and killed the defenders; the rest fled by night and the city fell.
