父煚，漢尚書郎、徐令。 Her father Xie Jiong had served the Han court as a Masters of Writing gentleman and as magistrate of Xu.

〈煚子承撰《後漢書》，稱煚幼以仁孝為行，明達有令才。〈Their son Xie Cheng, author of the Hou Han shu, wrote that Xie Jiong was known from boyhood for humane piety, clear judgment, and outstanding gifts.

煚弟貞，履蹈法度，篤學尚義，舉孝廉，建昌長，卒官。〉 His brother Xie Zhen walked the straight path of the code, loved learning and honor, rose as Filial and Incorrupt, and died in office as chief of Jianchang.
