梁州刺史蕭懿遣前氐王楊後起弟子元秀收合義兵，氐衆響應，斷虜運道。 Inspector Xiao Yi sent Yuanxiu, nephew of the former Di king Yang Houqi, to gather loyal forces; Di tribes answered, cutting the enemy supply lines.

元秀病死，符幼孫領其衆。 Yuanxiu died of illness, and Fu Yousun took command of his forces.

高宗詔曰：「仇池公楊元秀，氐王苗胤，乃心忠勇，醜虜凶逼，血誠彌厲，宣播朝威，招誘戎種，萬里齊契，響然歸從。 Emperor Gaozong's edict read: "Duke of Chouchi Yang Yuanxiu, of the Di royal line, was loyal and brave at heart; when the enemy pressed him hard his devotion only grew; he spread the court's authority and rallied the frontier tribes, and peoples far and near answered his call.
