至正十八年，紅巾賊至，也先忽都與妾玉蓮走尼寺中，為賊所得，令與眾婦縫衣，拒不肯為。 In Zhizheng 18 Red Turban rebels arrived. Yesen Huddu fled with her concubine Yulian to a nunnery but was captured and ordered to sew with other women. She refused.

玉蓮因自縊者凡三，賊並殺之。 Yulian then hanged herself as many as three times, and the bandits killed her as well.

久之，乃獲脫歸，訪母屍並玉蓮葬焉。 Eventually he escaped and returned, found his mother's body, and buried her together with Yulian.
