子興嗣。 His son Xing succeeded.

興生，兵亂，與仲相失，年又冲幼，莫知其戚屬遠近。 Xing was born amid military turmoil; he was separated from Zhong while still very young and did not know the nearness or distance of his kinship.

齊神武寇沙苑，興預在行間，軍敗被虜，隨例散配諸軍。 When Gao Huan attacked at Shayuan, Yuwen Xing was serving in the ranks. His army was defeated and he was captured; under the usual practice for captives, he was assigned to one of the army units.

興性弘厚，有志度，雖流離世故，而風範可觀。 Xing was broad and generous by nature, with breadth of purpose; though adrift through worldly vicissitudes, his bearing was admirable.

保定二年，詔仲子興始附屬籍。 In the second year of Baoding (562), an edict had Zhong's son Xing entered on the clan register.

高祖以興宗戚近屬，尊禮之甚厚，拜使持節、驃騎大將軍、開府儀同三司、都督，封大寧郡公。 High Ancestor Yuwen Yong, because Xing was a close imperial kinsman, honored and treated him very generously, appointing him bearer of staff of authority, flying-cavalry grand general, commissioner with Three Excellencies protocol, and commander, and enfeoffing him as Duke of Daning commandery.

五年，又徵拜宗師，加大將軍，襲爵虞國公。 In the fifth year (566), he was again summoned and appointed master-of-clans, advanced to grand general, and inherited the title Duke of Yuguo.

贈使持節、柱國大將軍、大都督、恆幽等六州諸軍事、恆州刺史，諡曰靖。 He was posthumously granted bearer of staff of authority, pillar-of-state grand general, chief commander, commander of military affairs in six provinces including Heng and You, and governor of Heng Province; his posthumous title was Jing (Tranquil).

天和四年，詔襲興爵。 In Tianhe 4 (569) an edict made him inherit Xing's title.
