時淮東按察副使王慶之按行至其州，見夢解剛直廉慎，而學有淵奧，自任職以來，門無私謁，官署蕭然，凡有差役，皆當其貧富，而吏無所預。 When Vice Surveillance Commissioner Wang Qingzhi of Huaidong inspected Haining, he found Mengjie upright, incorruptible, and learned in the deepest sense. Since taking office Mengjie had admitted no private callers, kept his offices austere, assessed every corvée levy according to each household's means, and allowed no clerk to interfere.
