張延朗，汴州開封人也。 Zhang Yanlang was a native of Kaifeng in Bianzhou.

明宗克鄆州，得延朗，復以為糧料使，後徙鎮宣武、成德，以為元從孔目官。 When Mingzong captured Yanzhou he obtained Yanlang and again made him grain supply officer; later, when he moved his command to Xuanwu and Chengde, he made him a clerical officer among his original followers.

長興元年，始置三司使，拜延朗特進、工部尚書，充諸道鹽鐵轉運等使，兼判戶部度支事，詔以延朗充三司使。 In the first year of Changxing the post of commissioner of the three departments was first established; Yanlang was appointed Special Advancement and minister of works, made commissioner of salt, iron, and transport for all circuits, and given concurrent charge of expenditure in the Ministry of Revenue; an edict appointed Yanlang commissioner of the three departments.

延朗再上表辭曰： Yanlang again submitted a memorial declining, saying:

延朗不得已而承命。 Yanlang had no choice but to accept the command.

延朗有心計，善理繁劇。 Yanlang was resourceful and skilled at managing complexity.

晉高祖在太原，朝廷猜忌，不欲令有積聚，係官財貨留使之外，延朗悉遣取之，晉高祖深銜其事。 When the Gaozu of Jin was at Taiyuan the court was suspicious and did not wish him to accumulate stores; apart from official goods left with the commissioner, Yanlang sent men to take them all, and the Gaozu of Jin deeply resented the matter.

延朗獨排眾議，請末帝北行，識者韙之。 Yanlang alone rejected the crowd's opinion and asked the Last Emperor to march north—men of insight approved him.

He lived on the Chen family's charity at Fuli; as months passed his plight grew worse, and he entered the service of Zhang Yanlang, commissioner of the three fiscal agencies—but the pay was meager indeed.

清泰末，延朗誅，漢祖盡得延朗之資產仆從，而峻在籍中，從歷數鎮，常為典客。 Near the end of the Qingtai era Yanlang was put to death. The Han founder Liu Zhiyuan seized all his property and retainers; Jun was listed among them and followed him through several provincial postings, usually as protocol officer.

張延朗，汴州開封人也。 Zhang Yanlang came from Kaifeng in Bian prefecture.

明宗克鄆州，得延朗，復以為糧料使，後徙鎮宣武、成德，以為元從孔目官。 When Mingzong took Yunzhou he kept Yanlang as grain commissary. Later, at Xuanwu and Chengde, he made him clerical officer to the original followers.

延朗因請置三司使，事下中書。 Yanlang asked to restore a three-bureaus commissioner, and the matter went to the Secretariat.

中書用唐故事，拜延朗特進、工部尚書，充諸道鹽鐵轉運等使，兼判戶部度支事。 The Secretariat followed Tang precedent and made Yanlang specially advanced and Minister of Works, circuit salt-and-iron transport commissioner, and concurrent judge of Household and Fiscal affairs.

明宗常出遊幸，召延朗共食，延朗不至，附使者報曰：「三司事忙，無暇。」 Mingzong often went touring and asked Yanlang to dine with him. Yanlang stayed away and sent word: “The three bureaus are buried in work. I have no time.”

晉高祖有異志，三司財貨在太原者，延朗悉調取之，高祖深以為恨。 Gaozu of Later Jin already nursed designs of his own. Yanlang seized every coin and store the Three Departments had at Taiyuan, and Gaozu never forgave him.

晉兵起，廢帝欲親征，而心畏高祖，遲疑不決，延朗與劉延朗等勸帝必行。 When Jin’s armies rose, the deposed emperor meant to take the field himself—but he feared Gaozu and hung back. Yanlang, Liu Yanlang, and others pressed him to march.

延朗籍諸道民為丁及括其馬，丁馬未至，晉兵入京師，高祖得延朗，殺之。 Yanlang drafted men from every circuit and seized their horses. Before either men or mounts arrived, Jin troops were already in the capital. Gaozu took Yanlang and killed him.
