與在禮同罪宜誅，而書「殺」者，明宗亦同罪，不得行誅，故以兩相殺書之。 He shared Zhao Zaili’s guilt and deserved execution, but the text says “killed” because Mingzong was guilty in the same way and had no standing to execute him. The wording treats it as one guilty party killing another.
