天寶十四載，使獻俘京師，還過福昌尉仲謨。 In the fourteenth year of Tianbao he was sent to present captives in the capital; on his return he passed through Fuchang, where the magistrate was Zhongmo.

謨妻，臯妹也，密約以疾召之，謨來，臯陽喑，直視謨而瞑。 Zhongmo's wife was Gao's younger sister; they secretly agreed to summon him on pretext of illness. When Zhongmo arrived, Gao feigned muteness, stared directly at him, and closed his eyes.

謨為盡哀，自含斂之。 Zhongmo mourned him with full ritual grief and personally performed the encoffining.
