自號永樂王，建元醜平，號其父為太公，以弟子政為尚書令，子端、子升為左右僕射，有騎兵二千。 He declared himself King of Yongle, adopted the era name Chouping, honored his father as Grand Duke, appointed his brother Zizheng chief minister, and his sons Ziduan and Zisheng as vice premiers, with two thousand horsemen.

南連梁師都，北事突厥，納弟為質。 To the south he allied with Liang Shidu; to the north he submitted to the Turks and sent his younger brother as a hostage.
