建隆元年正月戊午，有星出東北方，青赤色，北行，初小後大，尾跡斷續，光燭地。四月，有星出天市垣。六月癸酉，有大星赤色，出心大星。甲申，有星赤色，出太微垣，曆上相。乙未，有大星色赤，流虛東北。九月癸亥，有星出昴。甲子，有星如缶，出卯，光明燭地。十二月戊辰，有星青赤色，出參旗西南，慢行而沒，蒼光燭地。三年六月丁酉，有星出天市，入南斗魁。

In Jianlong 1, first month, on wuwu, a star rose in the northeast, blue-red in color, and traveled north; at first small, then growing larger, with an intermittent tail-track whose light lit the ground. In the fourth month, a star rose from the Celestial Market Enclosure. In the sixth month, on guiyou, a large red star rose from the Heart's great star. On jiashen, a red star rose from the Supreme Palace Enclosure and passed the Upper Prime Minister star. On yiwei, a large red star streamed toward the northeast of Emptiness. In the ninth month, on guihai, a star rose from the Hairy Head. On jiazi, a jar-sized star rose from Mao, and its brilliance lit the ground. In the twelfth month, on wuchen, a blue-red star rose southwest of the Three Stars Banner, moved slowly and vanished, its blue light lighting the ground. In the third year, sixth month, on dingyou, a star rose from the Celestial Market and entered the Southern Dipper's bowl.

In Qiande 1, second month, on bingwu, a peach-sized red star rose from the Bow and Arrow and vanished in the southeast, shining brightly. In the second year, second month, on yichou, a yellow-white star rose south of the Five Emperors of the Supreme Palace, streaked rapidly to the Outer Kitchen and vanished, its body scattering as its light lit the ground. In the third year, sixth month, on dingsi, a peach-sized yellow-red star rose from the Northern Dipper's bowl, passed north of the Supreme Palace Enclosure and west of the Horn constellation, gradually growing larger as it traveled more than five chi and vanished, its tail-track lingering brilliantly in the sky. In the twelfth month, on dingsi, a blue-white star rose from the Celestial River, traveled south to the Celestial Storehouse and vanished; at first small, then growing larger, its murky light spread over the ground. In the fourth year, first month, on yiwei, a blue-white star rose from the Celestial Altars and moved rapidly, leaving a tail-track more than three zhang long; at first small, then larger, it vanished in a blaze of light. In the fourth month, on jiayin, a blue-red star rose from the Celestial Milk, traveled southeast, pierced through the Room constellation and vanished, its light lighting the ground. In the intercalary eighth month, on jichou, a blue-white star rose from the Celestial Ship, streaked rapidly northwest, and vanished at Wenchang.

開寶元年七月戊子，有星出大角，青白色，北行沒，明燭地。九月戊子，有星出文昌，赤黃色，東北速行而沒。二年六月己卯，有星出河鼓，慢行，明燭地。三年九月庚午，廣州民見衆星皆北流。四年八月辛卯，有星出織女，西北行，尾跡三丈餘，沒，久有聲。五年八月乙巳，有星出王良，西北行，四丈餘，有聲而散。七年九月甲午，有星出室，西北行，星體散落有聲，明燭地。

In Kaibao 1, seventh month, on wuzi, a blue-white star rose from the Great Horn, traveled north and vanished, its brilliance lighting the ground. In the ninth month, on wuzi, a red-yellow star rose from Wenchang, streaked rapidly northeast and vanished. In the second year, sixth month, on jimao, a star rose from the Drum at the River, moved slowly, and its brilliance lit the ground. In the third year, ninth month, on gengwu, the people of Guangzhou saw many stars all streaming northward. In the fourth year, eighth month, on xinmao, a star rose from the Weaving Maid and traveled northwest, leaving a tail-track more than three zhang long; after it vanished, a sound was heard long afterward. In the fifth year, eighth month, on yisi, a star rose from Wang Liang and traveled northwest for more than four zhang, then scattered with a sound. In the seventh year, ninth month, on jiawu, a star rose from Encampment and traveled northwest, its body scattering with a sound as its brilliance lit the ground.

太平興國三年十月甲寅，有星出天船，赤黃色，至天棓，星體散落，明燭地。八年三月丙寅，有星晝出西南，當未地，青白色，尾跡二丈余，沒于東南，有光明。七月辛巳，有星如稱權，沒于婁。八月壬寅，有星出紫微鉤陳東，赤黃色，向北速行，近北極沒。

In Taiping Xingguo 3, tenth month, on jiayin, a red-yellow star rose from the Celestial Ship and reached the Celestial Club, its body scattering as its brilliance lit the ground. In the eighth year, third month, on bingyin, a star appeared by day in the southwest, in the Wei quarter, blue-white in color, with a tail-track more than two zhang long; it vanished in the southeast, shining brightly. In the seventh month, on xinsi, a steelyard-weight-sized star vanished at the Bond constellation. In the eighth month, on renyin, a red-yellow star rose east of the Purple Forbidden Hooked Array, streaked rapidly north, and vanished near the North Pole.

雍熙元年十月丁酉，有星出昴，赤色，東南蛇行二丈餘，沒。二年正月壬戌，有星出東井，其大倍于金星，入輿鬼沒。四年六月庚戌酉初，有星出西北，色青白，入濁，當戌地，有聲如雷。八月乙亥，有星出天關東，色赤黃，尾貫月。

In Yongxi 1, tenth month, on dingyou, a red star rose from the Hairy Head, serpentined southeast for more than two zhang, and vanished. In the second year, first month, on renxu, a star rose from the Eastern Well, twice the size of Venus, entered the Celestial Coach and vanished. In the fourth year, sixth month, on gengxu at the start of the you watch, a blue-white star rose in the northwest, entered the Murky in the Xu quarter, with a sound like thunder. In the eighth month, on yihai, a red-yellow star rose east of the Celestial Gate, its tail piercing the moon.

淳化元年九月辛巳，有星出羽林，色青，南行，光奪月。十一月壬午，流星出天關，南行，曆天井、郎位、攝提，至大角東北墜於地，光芒四照，聲如隤牆。二年正月丙申，有星出水府西，色赤黃，經參旗分爲三星，相從至天苑東沒，光燭地。七月癸酉，有星出雲雨側，色青白，緩行三尺餘，沒。二年三月己酉未時，西北方有星西北速行，色青白，有尾跡。四月己卯，有星出文昌，西南速行至柳，分爲二星而沒。六月己丑，有星出天市垣屠肆東，色青白，西北慢行丈余，分爲三星，從而沒。四年五月乙未平明，有星東南出南斗，色青白，西北行而沒。五年八月己酉，常星未見，有星出東方，色青白，東北慢行，至濁沒，大約出奎、婁間。九月庚午，有星出昴北，緩行，過捲舌，至礪石沒。

In Chunhua 1, ninth month, on xinsi, a blue star rose from the Feathered Forest, traveled south, and its light outshone the moon. In the eleventh month, on renwu, a meteor rose from the Celestial Gate and traveled south, passing the Celestial Well, Official of Honor, and Leading the Hunt, then fell to earth northeast of the Great Horn; its radiance shone in all directions, and its sound was like a collapsing wall. In the second year, first month, on bingshen, a red-yellow star rose west of the Water Office, passed the Three Stars Banner and split into three stars that followed one another to the east of the Celestial Park and vanished, their light lighting the ground. In the seventh month, on guiyou, a blue-white star rose beside Clouds and Rain, moved slowly for more than three chi, and vanished. In the second year, third month, on jiyou at the wei hour, a blue-white star in the northwest streaked rapidly northwest, leaving a tail-track. In the fourth month, on jimao, a star rose from Wenchang, streaked southwest to the Willow, split into two stars, and vanished. In the sixth month, on jichou, a blue-white star rose east of the Butcher's Shop in the Celestial Market Enclosure, moved slowly northwest for more than a zhang, split into three stars, and vanished in succession. In the fourth year, fifth month, on yiwei at daybreak, a blue-white star rose in the southeast from the Southern Dipper, traveled northwest and vanished. In the fifth year, eighth month, on jiyou, when the fixed stars were not visible, a blue-white star rose in the east, moved slowly northeast to the Murky and vanished, roughly between the Stride and the Bond. In the ninth month, on gengwu, a star rose north of the Hairy Head, moved slowly, passed Rolled Tongue, and vanished at Whetstone.

至道元年四月乙巳，常星未見，有星出心北，色青赤，急行而墜。七月癸丑，有星出危，色青白，入羽林沒。二年五月辛丑，有星出紫微北，尾跡丈餘，如彗而有聲，墜於壁、室間。五月己未，日未及地五尺間，有星出中天，色赤黃，有尾跡，東行速行二丈餘，沒。六月己卯，有星出牽牛西，曆狗國，光芒丈余，墜東南，及地無聲。又有星出翼，貫天廟，墜於稷星東，光燭地。九月丁酉平明，有星出北方，東行三丈余，分爲三星，從而沒。三年九月丁丑，有星二，隕於西南，一出南斗，一出牽牛，有光三丈許。

In Zhidao 1, fourth month, on yisi, when the fixed stars were not visible, a blue-red star rose north of the Heart, streaked rapidly and fell. In the seventh month, on guichou, a blue-white star rose from Rooftop, entered the Feathered Forest and vanished. In the second year, fifth month, on xinchou, a star rose north of the Purple Forbidden with a tail-track more than a zhang, comet-like and with a sound, falling between the Wall and Encampment. In the fifth month, on jiwei, when the sun was still five chi above the horizon, a red-yellow star rose at mid-heaven with a tail-track, streaked east for more than two zhang, and vanished. In the sixth month, on jimao, a star rose west of the Ox Leader, passed the Dog Country with a radiance more than a zhang, and fell in the southeast; it reached the ground without a sound. Again a star rose from Wings, pierced the Celestial Temple, and fell east of the Millet Star, its light lighting the ground. In the ninth month, on dingyou at daybreak, a star rose in the north, traveled east for more than three zhang, split into three stars, and vanished in succession. In the third year, ninth month, on dingchou, two stars fell in the southwest—one from the Southern Dipper, one from the Ox Leader—with light about three zhang long.

咸平五年三月丙午，有星晝出心，至南斗沒，赤光丈餘。八月辛巳，有星出營室，色白。丙申，有流星出東方，西南行，大如鬥，有聲若牛吼，小星數十隨之而隕。戊戌，又有星十數入輿鬼，至中台，凡一大星偕小星數十隨之，其間兩星，一至狼星，一至南斗沒。丁未，有星晝出紫微垣，貫北斗沒。壬子，有星出中天，尾跡數道如迸火，西流至狼、弧沒。六年五月乙未，有星出王良西，又出北極稍東北，至垣外沒，有聲如雷。六月庚午，有星晝出東北方，色黃白，有尾跡。七月壬辰，有星出昴，尾跡丈余，色白，隱隱有聲，至狼星沒。十一月癸丑，有星出畢，至屏星北沒，尾跡蛇行，屈曲三丈余，久方沒。十二月乙酉，威虜軍有星曆城西北，尾跡長數里，光照地，落蕃帳，有聲如雷者三。

In Xianping 5, third month, on bingwu, a star appeared by day from the Heart, reached the Southern Dipper and vanished, with red light more than a zhang long. In the eighth month, on xinsi, a white star rose from Encampment. On bingshen, a dipper-sized meteor rose in the east and traveled southwest with a sound like an ox's roar, and several dozen small stars followed it and fell. On wuxu, again more than ten stars entered the Celestial Coach and reached the Central Terrace; one large star with several dozen small stars following, among which two stars went separately—one to the Wolf Star, one to the Southern Dipper and vanished. On dingwei, a star appeared by day from the Purple Forbidden Enclosure, pierced the Northern Dipper and vanished. On renzi, a star rose at mid-heaven with several tail-tracks like bursting fire, streamed west to the Wolf and the Bow and vanished. In the sixth year, fifth month, on yiwei, a star rose west of Wang Liang, then rose again slightly northeast of the North Pole, reached outside the enclosure and vanished with a sound like thunder. In the sixth month, on gengwu, a yellow-white star appeared by day in the northeast, leaving a tail-track. In the seventh month, on renchen, a white star rose from the Hairy Head with a tail-track more than a zhang, faintly audible as it reached the Wolf Star and vanished. In the eleventh month, on guichou, a star rose from the Net and reached north of the Screen Star; its tail-track serpentined and wound for more than three zhang before vanishing only after a long while. In the twelfth month, on yiyou, at Weilu Army a star passed northwest of the city with a tail-track several li long, its light shining on the ground; it fell on a barbarian tent, and there were three thunderous sounds.

In Jingde 1, sixth month, on wuwu, a red-yellow star appeared by day in the southwest with a tail-track, streaked rapidly for more than a zhang, and vanished. In the tenth month, on wushen, at Tianxiong Army a star rose in the north and fell in the northwest, with light more than a zhang long. In the twelfth month, on gengchen, a star rose from Wenchang, moved slowly northwest, split into several stars, and vanished northeast of the Purple Forbidden Enclosure. On wuzi, a star rose from the Hairy Head, reached the Three Stars Banner, burst into several stars and vanished. In the second year, first month, on bingzi, before the sun had set, a star streaked rapidly southwest. In the second month, on jihai, a star rose from the Supreme Palace Upper General, its light lighting the ground. In the fourth month, on guimao, a star streamed north into the Celestial Storehouse with a tail-track more than a zhang long. In the tenth month, on wuyin, a star rose north of the Inner Screen within the Supreme Palace Enclosure, reached Wings and split into three stars that vanished in succession, with a blue-white tail-track. In the eleventh month, on renzi, a star rose in the south by day with a thunderous sound, its light lighting the ground. In the third year, fifth month, on yimao, a red-yellow star rose northeast of the Celestial Ford and north of the Purple Forbidden Enclosure, split into four stars that vanished in succession, leaving a tail-track. In the sixth month, on yihai, a star rose north of the Clouds and Rain star, reached south of the Feathered Forest Celestial Army, burst into three stars and vanished. On dingyou, a star rose north of the Stomach, entered the Celestial Granary, burst into several stars, its light lighting the ground. In the seventh month, on gengshen, a star rose from the Spirit Tower with a torch-like comet tail, thundering as it reached north and south and vanished, its red light lighting the ground. In the eleventh month, on xinchou, a star rose northeast of the Central Terrace, streaked rapidly with a sound, its light lighting the ground. In the fourth year, third month, on gengshen, a star appeared by day in the south. In the sixth month, on bingchen, a star rose in the north, streamed slowly to the Eight Grains, burst into several stars and vanished, its light lighting the ground. On jiwei, a star rose from the Celestial Market, split into three stars, and vanished at the Tail constellation.

七月辛卯，有星出敗瓜南，慢流，曆河鼓，入天市，至宗人東北，迸爲二星沒，色赤黃，有尾跡。十二月癸巳，有星出弧矢，赤黃色，尾跡丈餘，光燭地，速流入濁。

In the seventh month, on xinmao, a red-yellow star rose south of Rotten Gourd, streamed slowly past the Drum at the River into the Celestial Market, reached northeast of the Clansman, burst into two stars and vanished, leaving a tail-track. In the twelfth month, on guisi, a red-yellow star rose from the Bow and Arrow with a tail-track more than a zhang long, its light lighting the ground as it streaked rapidly into the Murky.

In Dazhong Xiangfu 1, second month, on wushen, more than ten red-yellow stars streaked rapidly into the Murky, leaving tail-tracks. In the fifth month, on xinwei, a Venus-sized star rose southeast of the Clansman in the Celestial Market Enclosure with a tail-track more than a zhang long and three cun wide, streamed slowly north to west of the Woman's Bed, and split into several stars and vanished. In the sixth month, on wushen, a red-yellow star rose within the Northern Dipper's bowl with a tail-track, streaked slightly north, burst into several stars and vanished. In the eighth month, on jichou, a Venus-sized star appeared by day at mid-heaven with a tail-track, streaked rapidly southeast and vanished near the sun. In the ninth month, on yichou, a star rose from the Celestial Storehouse, streaked rapidly southeast, and its body scattered. In the second year, third month, on jiwei, a star rose south of the Celestial Ford and reached the Detached Pearls and vanished, with a tail-track more than five zhang long that shone brightly on the ground. In the fourth month, on bingshen, a star rose from the Eight Grains with a tail-track, streaked west to east of the Five Chariots, burst into several stars and vanished. In the fifth month, on yihai, a Venus-sized star appeared by day in the east with a red-yellow tail-track, streamed to north of the sun and vanished. In the eighth month, on bingshen, a star rose from the Northern Dipper's ladle, streaked southwest to west of the General Officer, and split into several points. In the ninth month, on yichou, a peach-sized red star rose from the Southern River and vanished at the Central Terrace. In the third year, third month, on dingwei, a star rose northeast of the Clansman in the Celestial Market with a tail-track two zhang long, reached the Left Banner, burst into several stars and vanished, its light lighting the ground. In the fifth month, on dinghai, a peach-sized blue-white star rose from the Northern Dipper's bowl with a tail-track more than two zhang long. In the sixth month, on dingsi, a star rose from Wenchang and vanished at the Upper Terrace. On yimao, a peach-sized red-yellow star rose from the Guest House and vanished at the Purple Forbidden. On renshen, a red-yellow star rose from Establishment, entered the Southern Dipper and vanished, leaving a tail-track. In the seventh month, on gengchen, a star rose west of the Clansman, streamed north into the Murky, its light shining on the ground. In the eighth month, on dingwei, a star rose from the Coiled Thong, reached the Emperor's Seat and vanished, with a brilliant tail-track. On renxu, a star rose from Wenchang, reached the North Pole and vanished, with a tail-track more than a zhang long. In the ninth month, on gengchen, a star rose from the left of the Chariot Shaft, entered the Supreme Palace Enclosure and vanished. In the tenth month, on gengxu, a red-yellow star rose in the east without a tail-track, split into several stars, and vanished slightly to the south. In the fourth year, second month, on xinhai, a star rose in the east with a red-yellow tail-track more than two zhang long. In the fourth month, on yichou, a red-yellow star rose from the Willow and vanished at Wings. In the fifth month, on wuzi, a red-yellow star rose in the east. In the sixth month, on renxu, a star rose northeast of the Turtle Beak and streamed into the Murky. In the seventh month, on renshen, a star rose from the Purple Forbidden Palace, streaked rapidly to the Celestial Emperor and vanished. On wuyin, a star streamed from the Inner Steps past Wenchang to the Upper Terrace, burst into several stars and vanished in succession. In the tenth month, on wuwu, a star rose in the northeast and entered the Murky. Again a star rose south of the Seven Stars, reached the Celestial Millet and vanished, with a tail-track more than a zhang long. In the fifth year, second month, on wushen, a star rose from the Coiled Thong, passed the Arsenal, burst into several stars and vanished. In the eighth month, on wuwu, more than twenty stars large and small, all with tail-tracks, streamed northward. Again one star rose outside the Purple Forbidden Enclosure, its light lighting the ground, with a tail more than a zhang long and about three cun wide; it streamed northeast to the Guest House and vanished. On gengshen, a star rose north of the Celestial Waste with a tail-track more than ten zhang long, its brilliance lighting the ground, and vanished at Wenchang. In the sixth year, on yisi, a star appeared by day in the south, red light bursting and scattering, shining brightly on the ground. In the eleventh month, on dingsi, a red-yellow star rose east of the Official of Honor in the Supreme Palace with a tail-track, reached north of the Chariot Crossbar, burst into several stars and vanished. In the twelfth month, on guihai, a blue-white star rose in the southwest and vanished in the northeast. In the eleventh month, on jimao, a star rose from Wang Liang with a blue-yellow tail-track, streaked northwest to the Murky and vanished.
