父邪利，魯郡太守，宋元嘉中，沒虜。 His father Xieli had been Administrator of Lu commandery; during Emperor Wen's Yuanjia reign he was captured by the northern invaders.

邪利後仕虜中書，戒懷慎不許如此，懷慎得書更號泣。 Xieli later served the northerners as Director of the Secretariat and urged Huaishen not to go on like this; when Huaishen read the letter, he wept all the harder.

大明中，懷慎宗人冀州刺史元孫北使，虜問之曰：「崔邪利、模竝力屈歸命，二家子姪，出處不同，義將安在？」 During the Daming era Huaishen's kinsman Yuansun, governor of Jizhou, went north on a mission. The northerners asked him: "Cui Xieli and Mo both submitted when their strength gave out, yet their sons and nephews behave differently. Where does righteousness lie?"

至桑乾，邪利時已卒，懷慎絕而後蘇。 When he reached Sanggan he found Xieli had already died; Huaishen fainted and only later came to.

世祖南討至鄒山，規之與魯郡太守崔邪利及其屬縣徐通、愛猛之等俱降，賜爵鉅平子，拜雁門太守。 When Emperor Shizu campaigned south to Zou Mountain, Guizhi surrendered together with Cui Xieli, Administrator of Lu, and officials of subordinate counties including Xu Tong and Ai Mengzhi; he was ennobled as Viscount of Juping and appointed Administrator of Yanmen.
