辛亥，侍中韓建罷守太保，左僕射、同平章事楊涉罷守本官，乙太常卿趙光逢為中書侍郎、平章事，翰林學士奉旨、工部侍郎、知制誥杜曉為尚書戶部侍郎、平章事。 On xinhai Han Jian stepped down as chief minister to Grand Guardian; Yang She, left vice director and co-grand councilor, returned to his former post; Zhao Guangfeng, Minister of Ceremonies, became vice director of the Secretariat and grand councilor; Du Xiao, drafting Hanlin academician and vice minister of works, became vice director of the Revenue Ministry and grand councilor.

當唐之亡也，又有杜曉者，字明遠。 When Tang fell there was also Du Xiao, courtesy name Mingyuan.

曉以父死無罪，居喪哀毀； Xiao held his father innocent and mourned until he was broken;

崔遠判戶部，又辟巡官，或謂曉曰：「嵇康死，子紹自廢不出仕，山濤以物理責之，乃仕。 Cui Yuan as revenue commissioner took him again; someone told Xiao, “When Ji Kang died, his son Shao would not serve until Shan Tao rebuked him on principle.

曉乃為之起。 Xiao then took office.

梁太祖即位，遷工部侍郎奉旨。 When Liang’s Taizu took the throne, Xiao became Vice Minister of Works with imperial commission.

友珪立，遷禮部尚書、集賢殿大學士。 When Yougui took the throne, Xiao became Minister of Rites and Grand Academician of the Hall for Assembling the Worthy.

袁象先等討賊，兵大掠，曉為亂兵所殺，贈右僕射。 When Yuan Xiangxian punished the traitor, the army looted; Xiao was killed by mutineers and posthumously made Right Vice Director.
