聖宗長子，母曰欽哀皇蕭氏。 He was the eldest son of Emperor Shengzong; his mother was Empress Qin'ai, née Xiao.

十一年夏六月己卯，聖宗崩，即皇帝位於柩前。 In the eleventh year, on jimao day of the sixth summer month Shengzong died, and [the heir] immediately took the throne before the coffin.

乙未，奉大行皇帝梓宮，殯於永安山太平殿。 On yiwei day the late Emperor's coffin was escorted and encoffined at Taiping Hall on Yong'an Mountain.

癸丑，詔寫大行皇帝御容。 On guichou day an edict ordered the late Emperor's portrait painted.

丁巳，上謁大行皇帝御容，哀慟久之。 On dingsi day the Emperor visited the late Emperor's portrait and mourned deeply for a long time.

丁卯，謁太平殿，焚先帝所禦弓矢。 On dingmao day the court visited Taiping Hall and burned the late Emperor's bow and arrows.

八月壬午，遷大行皇帝梓宮於菆塗殿。 In the eighth month, on renwu day, the late Emperor's coffin was moved to Zutu Hall.

丙戌，遣工部尚書高德順、崇祿卿李可封致先帝遺物於宋； On bingxu day Minister of Works Gao Deshun and Chamberlain for Imperial Insignia Li Kefeng were dispatched to present the late Emperor's bequests to Song;
